Training is an essential component of Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy and isn’t limited to only chaplains. Below are trainings offered by Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy to both the community and volunteers.

Pastoral Care Intervention I & II (PCI)

The course addresses how to assist individuals or communities during a time of crisis, and it examines the impact that crisis situations have upon people, whether it is a psychological and/or spiritual impact.  Participants will receive continuing education credit from the University of Maryland.

Crisis Intervention Stress Management (CISM)

This in-person course will be on April 12-14, 2023 at North Charleston City Hall. Please see below for details.

Crisis Intervention is a specialized acute emergency mental health intervention which requires specialized training. This course is designed for anyone in the fields of Business and Industry Crisis Intervention, Disaster Response, Education, Emergency Services, Employee Assistance, Healthcare, Homeland Security, Mental Health, Military, Spiritual Care, and Traumatic Stress.

Public Safety Crisis Chaplaincy CPE Program with Roper St. Francis

This one of a kind Public Safety Crisis Chaplaincy CPE Program offers Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s CPE students the opportunity to train in the hospital and with first responders and on the scene of traumatic calls.
